Conditions for Students Applying for a Student Visa
Students wishing to apply for a student visa must enroll in a face-to-face programme that complies with the requirements established by the Spanish authorities responsible for immigration and education.
Courses intended for student visa applications must provide a minimum of 20 hours of in-person instruction per week.
The duration of the authorised stay will be determined by the length of the course enrolled in and will be reflected in the enrolment documentation issued by the school.
The Letter of Acceptance issued by Sevilla Habla will clearly state:
- Course start and end dates.
- Total number of weeks.
- Number of class hours per week.
- Amount paid.
In order for the school to issue the Letter of Acceptance required for a student visa application, the student must have paid the full course fees in accordance with the school’s current terms and conditions.
Attendance at classes is compulsory.
The school keeps attendance records for all enrolled students.
For students enrolled in programmes linked to a student visa:
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Documented justified absences may be accepted up to a maximum of 20% of the total course hours.
- Unjustified absences may affect the issuance of certificates and any academic documentation related to successful completion of the course.
Holiday periods and any interruptions to the programme will be subject to the academic calendar and the applicable regulations in force at the time.
The school has procedures in place to monitor attendance and absenteeism in accordance with the quality standards required of Instituto Cervantes accredited centres.
Students are expected to participate actively in class and complete the academic activities assigned by their teachers.
The school may assess students’ linguistic progress through tests, assignments, classroom activities, or internal evaluations.
At the end of the course, Sevilla Habla will issue the corresponding certificate provided that the attendance and academic requirements have been met.
Certificates will include, at a minimum:
- Student’s full name.
- Course dates.
- Total number of instructional hours.
- Level or sublevel completed.
- Type of certificate issued (Attendance Certificate or Achievement Certificate).
- Grade obtained, where applicable.
In order to obtain an Achievement Certificate, students must:
- Meet the minimum attendance requirements established by the school.
- Participate satisfactorily in the academic activities of the course.
- Achieve the learning objectives established for the corresponding level.
The granting or refusal of a student visa is the sole responsibility of the relevant consulates, embassies, and immigration authorities.
Enrolment in a course at Sevilla Habla and the issuance of supporting documentation do not guarantee the granting of a student visa.
Visa requirements may vary depending on the applicant’s nationality and the regulations in force at any given time.
Students are strongly advised to consult the official information provided by the relevant Spanish Embassy or Consulate before starting the visa application process.
